Accounts and daily email

We store your email address, optional name, a password hash, verification status, topic preferences, and delivery activity to provide your account and daily briefing. We verify email ownership before activating access and sending subscribed briefings. Opting out stops future briefings; account deletion is available in your preferences.

Cookies and analytics

Essential session cookies support sign-in. Optional Google Analytics loads only when you choose Allow analytics. Your choice is stored in your browser. Use Analytics settings at the bottom of the page to change it. Withdrawing consent stops future analytics loading; you can also clear existing cookies through your browser.

Service providers

We use Resend for email delivery and Google reCAPTCHA to protect registration and verification requests against abuse. These providers process information necessary to provide those services. Public source material is processed by an AI provider to produce briefings. Choosing the News Firehose sends your email in a signed authentication token to thenewsfirehose.com.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense on public briefing pages. Google and its advertising partners may process information such as your IP address, browser details, cookies, and interactions to deliver and measure advertising, subject to your choices and applicable requirements. Google’s consent message offers Consent, Do not consent, and Manage options to eligible visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland. When available, use Google’s privacy and cookie settings link to revisit your advertising choices. These choices are separate from our optional analytics setting. Ad availability depends on Google’s site approval and account configuration.
